Sr. Angela Wong Chin Chin, a Franciscan Missionary of Mary has often been asked these questions: What makes you to become a nun? Why Franciscan Missionaries of Mary? It was the desire of her heart and her continuous dialogue process of self, God and creation. “I have loved you this much and what is your return?” This challenged her to be a Franciscan Missionary of Mary (FMM) on 13th Jun 1989 till today year 2018, 29 years of constant forming and transforming to be a Living Candle in her FMM religious vocation of consercreted life. 

She missioned in Kota Baru, Kelantan as a trained Pre-school teacher to teach children, ages 5-6 years old and journeyed spiritually with youth 15-19 years old in the Church Youth Ministry from 1992-1994. She also worked with Single Adults  20-40 years old from the year 1995-1997 for their spiritual growth and human development in the Church of Assumption, Petaling Jaya. In the year 1994, she served as the coordinator of Assunta Children Society, for less privileged children and adolescents residing in Petaling Jaya supported by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.

She gained her mission exposure experience in Bombay, Pune, in India, Theological  Studies at the De La Salla University of Sri Lanka, from 1997-1998. She did her counselling program at the Emmaus Centre, Petaling Jaya from March 2000-2006 then graduated with an Executive Diploma In Counselling from University of Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) in 2009. She was appointed as Director of Assunta Children Society in the management as well as the supervision of the operation project for the less privileged children and their families from 2007-2014.

She completed her Bachelor in Psychology with Honours in 2016, then pursued her Master of Counselling at Open University of Malaysia in 2018. She is currently a licensed professional counselor in Tun Tan Cheng Lock College of Nursing (Assunta Hospital) where she can impart her counselling skills, listen attentively and continue to be Living Candle for the student nurses.
